Max Richter releases spine-tingling new album
Today marks National Album Day UK (17th October) and one huge supporter is the Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter, who coincidentally has released his new album, While The Flood Rages, via Decca Records.
The magnificent body of work is drawn from Richter’s composition for MaddAddam: a collaboration with Wayne McGregor, the resident choreographer of The Royal Ballet, which culminated in the multi-sensory three-act ballet inspired by writer Margaret Atwood’s MaddAddam trilogy, co-commissioned by the National Ballet Of Canada and the Royal Opera House. Years in the making, the project marks Richter and McGregor’s third collaboration, following Infra and Woolf Works.
To honour the occasion, Richter has created a crossword book featuring newly commissioned essays by literary critic and professor Anahid Nersessian and philosopher and author Victoria Trumbull, exploring themes within the work. A limited number of the books will be available through independent bookshops around the world. A digital version will also be available to members of Max’s community Max Richter | fan3—.
Fans can purchase ‘While The Flood Rages’ here.
Richter will also host listening events in cities around the world. See the full list of locations below:
