Madonna and Charli XCX join forces on Danceteria remix

Madonna and Charli XCX, two of the world's most exciting artists, have joined forces on “Danceteria Afterhours”, a riff on Madonna’s origin-story hit single “Danceteria.”

Produced by Madonna, Andrew Watt, Cirkut and Stuart Price, the collaboration follows Madonna's “Club Confessions” party with Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week in June, where Charli XCX joined Madonna and Confessions II producer Price behind the DJ decks. It also comes hot on the heels of Madonna’s epic hook-up with pop sensation Kylie – their remixed version of Madonna's song "Love Sensation" (Afterhours Mix), was released in August.

“Danceteria” is the latest single from Madonna’s widely acclaimed No.1 album, Confessions II - her fifteenth studio album, which stormed into the charts in July, making her only the fourth act in history to achieve at least ten No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 - and the first American artist to top the UK albums chart across five distinct decades. The album was also monumental in marking the singer's major return to club and dance culture.

Madonna is set to open the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (27th September) with her first performance at the show in 23 years. This will also mark her fifth performance at the VMAs – more than any other artist in the show’s history.

Madonna leads this year’s field with a career high 13 nominations. Since opening the very first VMA ceremony, Madonna has delivered some of the show’s most provocative, talked about performances and unforgettable moments which have helped define the VMAs.

Her "Danceteria Afterhours" track with Charli XCX is out now via Warner Records. Listen HERE. Three limited edition CDs available HERE.
