Dario Vitale (52) has parted ways with Versace after only one season as creative director of the house. The news comes just two days after Prada Group acquired Versace for €1.3bn, and has prompted questions as to whether creative differences could be the reason for Vitale's surprise exit. Vitale had previously worked for the Group for 15 years as the former design director of Miu Miu, before leaving to take over from Donatella Versace (who ran Versace, then a family business, for three decades) in April this year as the first non-blood relative at the helm. Vitale will officially leave Versace 12th December.
Vitale’s first collection for Versace in September was highly lauded, channelling the Miami spirit and opulence of founder, Gianni Versace. In honour of this collection, we've curated the highlights.
