If you have dreamt of visiting Berlin – or returning to the city to absorb its vibrant culture and historical landmarks – Croatian illustrator Miroslav Sekulić-Struja’s compelling illustrations transport you there. The works feature in the new book Berlin produced by the luxury French fashion house Louis Vuitton - part of its travel book collection founded in 2010, in which international artists are invited to explore places they have never visited before, recording their reactions and experiences, which unfold within a journey-inspired sketchbook establishing a dialogue between travel and art. On Sekulić-Struja’s sojourn, two characters cross paths “amid memory, pain and healing.”

A selection of Sekulić-Struja’s original drawings will also be presented at the fourth edition of the Festival du Dessin in Arles, France (from 18th April to 17th May),  where Louis Vuitton is presenting an exhibition dedicated to the illustrations in the Berlin book, alongside works by Italian cartoonist Gabriella Giandelli, which were produced for her travel book Australia in 2021 and the American author, painter and illustrator Miles Hyman for his travel book Rome (2018).

When recording their journeys, the artists are free to choose their technique – drawing, painting, collage, illustration, manga, scratch card – their medium such as oils and watercolours, and their modus operandi – whether that is computer or freehand drawing, in situ, from memory, or from photographs taken on site. As such the books become more about the expression of the emotions each one felt when encountering these new worlds rather than a simple guide. They invite readers "to envision the world differently", guided by the artist.

The Travel Book Berlin will be available from May 7th 2026 in Louis Vuitton stores, selected bookstores, and on the website.
