England and Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has become the first English footballer to be awarded the Ballon d'Or in 25 years, while women’s Spanish football sensation Alexia Putellas has scooped the trophy for a record-breaking third time, it was announced during a star-studded ceremony at the London Palladium on 26th October.
The prestigious trophy, which is organised by Groupe L'Équipe and France Football (owned by Groupe Amaury) in partnership with UEFA, was presented to the winners in bespoke Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunks, which are handcrafted by artisans in the house's historic workshop in Asnières-sur-Seine. The trunks feature the brand's iconic Monogram canvas and each open via two front panels adorned with the "V" for Victory and Vuitton, painted in gold, echoing the colour of the Ballon d'Or.
Actress Sophie Turner, Louis Vuitton House Ambassador, presented the trophies for the 2026 Men's and Women's Striker of the Year wearing a black tailored double-breasted suit, complemented by yellow gold, pink gold and diamonds from Le Damier de Louis Vuitton fine jewellery collection.
