A Gucci getaway
Gucci had landed in Monte Carlo for the summer, returning to La Rose des Vents Monte Carlo – the exclusive Larvotto beachfront club, seafood restaurant and cafè – for a takeover until October. The house’s relocation to the French Riviera reestablishes its connection to the glamorous resort, which is the birthplace of its iconic Flora motif - “the house’s visual language since its creation in 1966”, which is being celebrated in its 60th anniversary year. The iconic print was conceived when Rodolfo Gucci presented a gift to Princess Grace of Monaco. He commissioned Italian illustrator Vittorio Accornero to design an elegant silk square in an “explosion of flowers”, which has since become one of the fashion house's most enduring signatures. The print is in full bloom at the beach club appearing across its interiors as a whimsical flourish adorning parasols, sun loungers, towels and tableware.
Gucci has also designed a special selection of ready-to-wear and accessories in shades of red, available exclusively at the Monte Carlo boutique and online.
